Batu is a city from East Java and part of Malang city, However, in 2001, Batu has declared about independent city legalized under of Act of 11, 2001. The population of 170,000 people and it mostly consist of Javanese and Madurese ethnics.

Batu city has been divided into 3 subdistrics, which in consist from Batu, Bumiaji, and Junrejo. The subdistricts Has been divided into 24 villages. For the Tourism sector, Batu has a some recreational places are :
